My supercomputer has us promoted, but then it is a Fujitsu machine I got second hand from the Post Office

 

If we win and it isn't enough to finish in 7th (which I don't think it will be), it won't be because other results haven't gone our way on the day. It will be because we haven't done enough over the course of the season and the really, really annoying thing is that to do enough, we would only have needed to turn one of our losses over the course of the season into a win for it to be entirely in our own hands on Saturday.

I can’t help feeling grieved with Alexander for all the games he’s missed him out. Not even on the bench

We’d have been in the play offs had he played, I’ve no doubt

 

19 goals and 10 assists for the season, 50 goals over the past 2 seasons, top scorer every season he's been here (including his first season when he was only here from January), and joint 10th all time top scorer for the club.
Not bad for a fat lad.

 

We are winning this match and ending on 69 points. If that’s enough is another matter, but just do our job and we can have an inquest after.

Alexander’s team/squad selections have been completely baffling at times - preferring Osadebe to Pointon being a prime example. That said, he’s clearly got the best out of the players and the aggregate PPG he’s attained since arriving is more than good enough to achieve a playoff spot over the course of a season.

Think we already have the basis of a good squad for this level and with the right recuitment we could be a real force next season.

 

I've been a huge critic of Oyegoke during his time here but credit where it's due he's one of the very few players for us this season that has improved the more he's adapted to L2

 

I just hope the folk at the club aint suckered in of whats gone on over the last few weeks like some of our fanbase .............ok turning up when the pressure is no longer on is it ?

Folk like Smallwood being hailed as not really that bad when he and a fair few of them players are the reason we stand at this level yet again.

The season is based on 46 games not 5 games and that squad on the whole have failed when it really mattered.

 

Saturday reminds me of 1988. Who would have expected Middlesborough to lose and Villa not win but that’s exactly what happened but City couldn’t beat Ipswich

 

I’d have their young centre forward in a heartbeat. Only 19, mobile, built like an outside toilet and frightened Platt and Kelly to death.

 

Our best of the back three today was Oggy by a country mile. I hope we can get him in on a permanent deal. He’s just got better ever game since his return to fitness. Still a lot to learn but strong as an ox and now starting to show composure on the ball.

 

So pleased we stuffed them. Time wasting at throw ins and dead ball kicks was not addressed by the ref at all.

Their manager said after the game their tactics were to silence the crowd. Well actually Crawley did that.

I think a fully fit Pattison gets at least 10 goals this season.
When we are so short of goals in all departments,that amount makes a massive difference.

 

- 65 League goals now, putting him in 7th, just behind Cooke.
- 70 total goals putting him 10th, level with Ham but ahead on fewer appearances

If we get 15-20 out of Cook, 10-15 from Kavanagh, 10 from J. Walker (if back), 5-10 from Pointon, something from Smith & Young, 5-10 from the defenders, and another 10-20 from the rest, especially midfield, we should get up around 70, which would be a good minimum. (Also reduce goals allowed by, say, 10 minimum.) We really need to give the defence a break, by not forcing them to always play whilst worrying that allowing only 1 goal a match dramatically reduced our chance for a win.

Really enjoyed the lap of appreciation yesterday, it was a nice touch and the players and their families seemed to enjoy it.

On another note, I thought Oyegoke had a great game yesterday, probably his best game for us. Perhaps a chance we’ll make an offer?

 

We could go through countless recent examples but anyone also remember Swansea coming here at the end of November 91 and having not won, or even scored a single goal away from home all season?
